Ms. Debbie Fraley Awarded Special Recognition

Presentation of the Moquin Award to Debbie Fraley by Roger Eidsaune, President of the Huntsville Association of Technical Societies (HATS)

President of the WID-TVC Board of Directors, Kathy Broad (CEO of QTEC Inc.), presents Debbie Fraley the Professional of the Year 2014 award

(Huntsville, AL - July 2014) — The Huntsville Association of Technical Societies held its 2014 Professional of the Year (POY) Banquet on 19 June 2014. One of Quantum's Business Development Managers, Ms. Debbie Fraley, was recognized with two awards.

Ms. Fraley was first selected as the Tennessee Valley Chapter of Women in Defense (WID-TVC) as their 2014 Professional of the Year. She has been a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of WID-TVC, serving in multiple leadership positions over the past 8 years. She is currently responsible for the chapter's Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) initiative.

WID's STEM program has flourished under her leadership as she has championed the cause of encouraging students to pursue technical careers to help solve the growing problem in our community of replacing our senior level technical experts, both in industry and Government. Ms. Fraley has forged an active partnership with the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH) to develop hands-on tools that demonstrate scientific principles for donation to Tennessee Valley schools and the Sci-Quest Hand's On Science Center. These tools provide an interactive means by which the students can have fun as they learn. Sixteen projects have been delivered with two more underway. Additionally, Ms. Fraley donates her time to lecture senior engineering students at UAH on life as an engineer in the defense community and provides assistance to students with building their first resume.

Fifteen other professional organizations also presented their own Professional of the Year certificates to their respective winners. The last award of the evening was the Joseph C. Moquin Award, also presented to Ms. Fraley. The criteria for selection for the Moquin Award is the one Professional of the Year who stood out above their peers by providing exemplary leadership to the North Alabama technical community.
